Conference with Kim Thúy
Started in 2017, the meetings “I come from far, I write in French” by the Alliance française Paris Île-de-France give the floor to authors (writers, directors, cartoonist…) coming from elsewhere, who chose to express themselves in French. Hosted by Bernard Magnier, this meeting will welcome the writer Kim Thúy. Born in Vietnam, she left her country at 10 with the boat people to move to Quebec. Kim Thúy received several awards, among which the Governor’s Literary Award 2010 and was one of the four finalists for the Alternate Nobel Prize in 2018. Her books have been translated in 29 languages.
