The city of Ottawa was chosen in 1857 by Queen Victoria to be the capital of Canada. Today, it is the fourth largest city in Canada.<\/p>\n

It has a Victorian architecture that can be seen on Parliament Hill and during the visit of downtown area dotted with many buildings with remarkable architecture.<\/p>\n

It is a city of water because it was built on the Ottawa River and has a large part of the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with eight locks that are still in operation and are entirely manual.<\/p>\n

With these waters, Ottawa is a green city, as the city’s design likes to show. The city has at least ten parks with remarkable trees and offers many green spaces.<\/p>\n

In the summer, it offers walking and water trails, and other activities in a soothing setting under majestic trees with benches and lounge chairs along the way. In winter, it becomes an outdoor skating rink connected to the Rideau Canal for over 7 kilometers.<\/p>\n
