A high-caliber recital: French masterpieces and left-hand virtuosity

During this recital, Maxime Zecchini will perform iconic works of French music, inviting audiences on a musical journey alongside Gabriel Fauré (Après un rêve, Clair de Lune), Camille Saint-Saëns (Études opus 135), Charles-Valentin Alkan (Grande Fantaisie opus 76), Jules Massenet (Méditation de Thaïs), Maurice Ravel (transcription of the Concerto for the Left Hand), and Justin Hurwitz (Suite from the themes of La La Land). This program highlights not only the unique left-hand repertoire but also the pianist’s virtuosity and poetic depth.

An artist renowned worldwide

Maxime Zecchini is a pianist of international acclaim. After outstanding studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon, he joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris to further his training with Jean-François Heisser. Zecchini then became the first French pianist to graduate from the prestigious “Incontri col Maestro” Academy in Imola, Italy. Inspired by the discovery of Maurice Ravel’s Concerto for the Left Hand, Zecchini became fascinated with this singular repertoire and undertook an in-depth exploration of works dedicated to the left hand. This led to the recording of a monumental ten-volume anthology. His unique style has captivated concert halls around the world, from Italy to Japan, and in countries such as China, South Africa, and Australia. He will be on tour in Canada through the Alliance Française network, performing in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Halifax.
