From all corners of the world at the Alliance Française Ottawa!

In early October, our cultural team, along with the administrative team, installed a cork world map in the hallways of the Alliance Française Ottawa. And it was no easy task! Millimeter by millimeter, island by island, everything was carefully glued in place!

French: A Thousand Cultures

The main goal of this map was to highlight the cultural diversity of the French language. From Morocco to Brazil, via Belarus, Egypt, and Taiwan, our Alliance Française is a prime example of the reality of the Francophonie. A single language brings us together, yet we all possess a unique cultural richness that we share every day.

Diversity at the Heart of Our Mission

This map also reflects our main mission at the Alliance Française Ottawa: to promote the Francophonie as a whole! In fact, we organize cultural events throughout the year that highlight the various Francophone cultures and languages—whether through our film clubs, exhibitions, or concerts!
