The Alliance Française Ottawa is a non-profit organization established in the National Capital Region of Canada since 1905. It is part of the Alliance Française network, the largest cultural organization in the world with 832 branches in 131 countries. The Alliance Française Ottawa is a French language school with more than 1,200 students per year, a cultural center highlighting all French-speaking cultures, a pedagogical and documentary resource center, and an officially accredited examination center.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Marketing:
- Define and reinforce the Alliance Française Ottawa’s brand image
- Create all the promotional material necessary to ensure the AF’s place in a very competitive local context, while respecting the organization’s brand image
- Identify the appropriate audience segments and marketing channels – Monitor new marketing tools, ongoing training as needed to stay on top of new technologies
- Implement advertising campaigns, including paid advertisements, to increase the visibility of Alliance Française Ottawa’s products
Communication:
- Implement communication strategies to promote and increase the visibility of the Alliance Française Ottawa
- Write all official external communications of the organization: newsletters (Sendinblue), press releases, etc.
- Creation and editing of all documentation related to the promotion of the AF and its programs (flyers, posters, visuals for emails etc.)
Social Media:
- Develop and implement a strategy based on the human experience and adapted to our audiences on the various platforms.
- Daily supervision of the work of a volunteer in civic service who animates the social
social networks, creating with him/her specific content for each network used by AF (Instagram by AF (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) - Analyze our presence on social media and make recommendations to management
- Ensure a technology watch to stay on top of the platforms used by our audience
- Implementing paid advertising campaigns via Facebook Ads Manager

- Optimizing web pages and their SEO
- SEO: Research and implement recommendations for search engine optimization optimization recommendations
- SEA: Handle day-to-day responsibilities related to Google Ads and Google accounts
- Grants, monitor and identify keywords
Public Relations:
- Represent the Alliance Française Ottawa at public events, such as forums meetings with partners, etc.
- Be the main point of contact with the media, write press releases and schedule regular interviews for management
- Write and publish satisfaction surveys following each course session
Other duties:
- Establish and monitor the annual budget of the communication-marketing department
- Prospecting: identification of new potential partners and creation of partnerships (media, associations, private companies…) in collaboration with the management
- Drafting of various reports according to needs (annual report for the General Assembly, regular detailed reports on the results of satisfaction surveys and promotional promotional campaigns)
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- 2 years experience in marketing/communication/public relations desired
- Language skills required: French mother tongue or proven C2 level, English B2 level
- University degree or post-secondary certificate/diploma or college diploma in a relevant relevant field (communications, marketing, journalism, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
- Interpersonal and public relations skills
- Professional skills in the following platforms desired: Photoshop/ InDesign/Canva, WordPress, social media platforms
- Working knowledge of Google Ads, Google Grants, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic dynamic environment
- Be aware of the latest trends in digital communications, industry standards and best practices and best practices

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Desired start date: as soon as possible, January 4, 2023 at the latest
- Permanent contract for an indefinite period
- Full time position, 37.5 hours/week
- Remuneration: between $23.32 and $27.56/hour depending on experience and qualifications
