Exam details

Important

• It is not possible to take the test or exam online: the test is held on the premises of the Alliance Française in Ottawa.
• A non-refundable fee of $100 will be retained in the event of a cancellation or a request to change the test date before the registration deadline.
• No refund or test date change will be accepted after the registration deadline.
• If a candidate is denied access to the examination room (for example, due to the absence of valid identification), the fees will not be refunded and a new registration will be required.
• No credit or refund will be granted outside the deadlines mentioned above, except in the event of cancellation by the Alliance Française, in which case another date will be offered or a full refund will be issued.
• Candidates will receive an official admission notice by email approximately 7 days before the test, including the exact schedule of the exams and the candidate handbook.
• Please plan for a full day to complete the exams (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).
• TEF/TCF: Candidates may take the test more than once, provided that a minimum interval of twenty (20) days is respected between two registrations.
• Result certificates are personal and confidential. We will not share them with anyone other than the candidate.
