How to learn French fast at home?
Your home is your safe space, the place you go to when you need some rest, some comfort, to be with your family and relax. But did you know that your home could also be used as language training center, to help you improve your French? These six interactive ideas will provide constant exposure to French for children.
Here is what you can do:
- Go around your house and add stickers with translated name on every item, furniture, and rooms you have, it will help you memorize new words easily and increase your French vocabulary.
- What is your morning routine? You might want to listen to French radios or podcasts in the morning when getting ready for work. It will help you develop your listening.
- Make a list of very commonly used phrases and words and pine them on your fridge or kitchen drawers, that way, you will learn a new sentence every time you go for a snack.
- Another one we recommend is to change your phone and laptop language stings to French, so that you can get used to some technical words. Do the same for your other electronic devices, such as Alexa, Siri and Google. It will be a bit difficult at first, but you will end making big improvements.
- Choose one room in your house, where you will be obligated to speak French. That is to say, as soon as you step your foot in this room, you will have to switch languages, it could be your office, your kitchen, your garden, your bathroom, etc.
- Organize French diners, book clubs, brunch or parties. Gather people that are learning French like you, to share some of your learnings through diners, games or any activities that might be of interests to you.
We hope these tips will help you. Alliance Francaise Ottawa is a French language training center, and we will be more than happy to help you in your French learning journey.
